Insulation Supply Co., Inc. was formed in 1981 as a distributor of building materials for the construction of cold storage facilities.  Shortly after its formation, Insulation Supply Co., Inc. acquired the F. V. Vleck Company, a company that focused on the construction of cold storage spaces.  After the acquisition, Insulation Supply Co., Inc. began doing business as the F. V. Vleck Company.  For more than 40 years, the F. V. Vleck Company continued to construct and repair cold storage spaces and supply building materials to commercial contractors working on cold storage projects, commercial kitchens, convenience stores, quick-service restaurants, and other similar-use locations.

In early 2025, the F. V. Vleck Company decided to focus solely on the distribution of building materials.  At that time, the company closed the business division that was involved in construction and repairs.  

Today, the F. V. Vleck Company continues to be a Mid-Atlantic region distributor for several well-known brands, such as Marlite, Glasteel, Nudo, Dow, Titebond, and WeatherMaster.  The company is a wholesale distributor of these products to suppliers, ranging from local lumber yards and hardware stores to multi-location lumber and building material distributors, and it offers retail sales directly to local contractors.
